"Mapping Our World Using GIS" helps students investigate geographic information systems (GIS) through seven step-by-step modules that require critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The lessons use the latest ArcGIS[registered] Desktop software and also align with national teaching standards for geography, science, and technology in introducing and building skills in geographic inquiry, spatial thinking, and GIS technology. "Mapping Our World Using GIS" is an instructor resource text recommended for grades 6 and upwards.A follow-up to "Mapping Our World: GIS Lessons for Educators", this second volume in the "Our World GIS Education" series contains updated materials and lessons that combine geography, data collection, mapping, and critical analysis to guide educators and students through course content in new ways. Students acquire and continue building broad-based problem-solving skills as the lessons progress.
