Description

The Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Diary is a week-by-week guide to help those with difficulty regulating their emotions learn and practice core dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills. Journaling is an essential component of dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) treatment, but until now, no guided DBT journal has been available for people with borderline personality disorder and/or emotion dysregulation to use. This is the first DBT diary on the market and can be used alone or as a companion to the bestselling Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills Workbook. It includes four short chapters explaining the four DBT skills (distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness), along with one year's worth of exercises that allow readers to practice each skill. Readers can use the worksheets, evaluations, and exercises in their diary to monitor their progress and skill development week-by-week over the course of a year as they learn to soothe themselves, manage overwhelming emotions, and practice new, healthy habits.
