Christine Lavelle is a lecturer in horticulture and ecology at Writtle College, Chelmsford, England, and an external examiner for the School of Horticulture at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Michael Lavelle has designed educational exhibits at the Chelsea Flower Show, achieving gold medals in 1999, 2003 and 2005. Together, Christine and Michael have won the Garden Media Guild Practical Book of the Year Award twice.
