An exploration of the relationship betwen people and the land, and between agriculture and spirituality, in a number of cultures. While many traditional cultures are built upon a relationship between god(s), people and nature, this link is destroyed by assimilation into the global economic community. Agricultural systems are profoundly difficult affected by the world ecological crisis. Whether we can solve the crisis depends on how we can rethink our relationship with nature and agriculture. This study asks whether and how society can rethink spiritual connections with nature. It comprises a collection of papers delivered at the Crossroads Conference at Wageningen Agricultural University.
