Description

Author description

Writer Anne Ingram was born in Auckland, and spent her childhood years in Dunedin, Te Kuiti and Orewa.   She has a BA in English Literature and Diploma in Teaching (Secondary).  She has lived and worked in Wellington, London, Christchurch, Singapore and Wellington, and now lives in Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast.     Anne has worked as a newspaper columnist, freelance journalist, publisher’s editor, teacher, and has had her own specialist children’s bookstore, Moby Dickens’ Books. For a number of years, she produced a weekly children’s programme for Coast Access Radio.  She has been coordinator of the Kapiti Children’s Book Festival and convenor of the Kapiti Schools Mastermind competitions.  For the Kapiti Children’s Writers’ Charitable Trust, of which she is deputy-chair, she edited and published collections of work for children by local writers: Shortz - Stories from Kapiti (2012) and Flying High - Stories and Poems from Kapiti (2015). Currently, Anne is convenor of a skills-based Focus Writing Group and is writing another adventure about Lucy Bee.
